Step 1: Dig out of the Surface between 200-250mm with digger
Step 2: Put up string lines and work out the best finished heights of the Driveway
Step 3: Insert, depending on the soil, the recommended depth of MOT TYPE 3 Stone aggregate
120-180mm compacted depth.
Step 4: Installation of Block Stone Border to frame the surround of the driveway area
Step 5: Grade the Top Surface to leave an 70-80mm depth to receive the substrate system.
Step 6: Lay down a Geo-textile membrane (NON WOVEN) on top of the compact stone.
Step 7: Install sharp/concrete sand base level screed fully to maximum depth of 20mm
Step 8: Place on top of the sand "ECOGRIDS" interlocking grid system and cut to within the boundaries or the Driveway, then compact into the sand.
Step 9: Fill the grids with 6-14mm Angular stone clean aggregate and compact to provide a flat level installation surface.
Step 10: Mix and Lay the Resin Bound Quartz stone aggregate to a depth of 18-20mm for vehicular traffic or 15mm for path/patio installation.
Steps 6, 7, 8 and 9 can be replaced by installation of Open Texture/ Porous Tarmac to a depth of between 60-80 mm (but geo-textile membrane should be inserted under Type 3 Aggregate in this instance.
